THE ART OF ECU TUNING: Australian developed and written engine and gearbox flash tuning, remapping and piggy back tuning solutions to match your vehicle to your requirements and remove false hidden restrictions on power the manufacturers impose on almost all vehicles. Manufacturers play games nowadays with badging and stock outputs from engines. The reality is your vehicle is capable of safely producing a lot more torque, power and economy than you would think. The days of cost cutting have been upon us for some time and manufacturers produce a number of vehicles in a range with various standardpower outputs, even though the vehicles in that range are mechanically identical to other models in the range and across the world. Why do they do this ? It all boils down to cost of production. Its easier and cheaper to produce one standard tune level that fits all global fuel and climate requirements that specifically tune each vehicle to each country. Sometimes it is other factors such as emissions regulations being different from one country to another, sometimes because it is the need to have lower powered variants in the model range to meet market demands, or just that the manufacturer has spent sever billion dollars developing an engine range and know it needs to last for development over, say, a ten year cycle. Well their marketing departments need to be able to sell updated and face lifted vehicles during that time. The majority of the time, this is simply being done with remapping the factory ECU. This is exactly as we do, but we can tailor it to your very requirements. And we do it to suit your fuel grade, your climate, air density and a host of other factors. Take the VW 2.0 Turbo petrol range. Factory outputs range from 160hp, to 210hp, and then again with larger turbo set up variant of the same engine which include 230hp, 265, 275, and 300+hp outputs. The difference is the engine ECU coding and nothing more. RD Technik can essentially turn a 160hp variant into the 210 variant on engine coding alone. We can then optimize the tuning liberating anything up to another 30-70hp gain, depending on the level of tune you require. Its the same position with a number of other manufacturers.
